Microcystin

Microcystins are cyclic heptapeptides from cyanobacteria and highly specific hepatotoxins. Cyano Biotech develop by combinatorial biosynthesis a non-toxic microcystin variant that will still be taken up specifically by liver cells. The detoxified microcystin could couple pharmacologically active substances to combat liver-specific diseases. Cyano Biotech also offer several structural variants of microcystin as analytic/diagnostic bio-reagent, e.g. microcystin-LR, microcystin-RR and microcystin-YR.
