Screening for novel natural products and biological activities
Pre-selected strains enter a 3-step screening procedure, employing specifically developed methods for PCR, MALDI-TOF, and LC/MS. Again only about one in three strains entering this phase is selected for activity assays in high throughput screening employing state-of-the-art equipment.
